Shay graduated from the University of Toronto in 2019 with a Master of Science in Physiotherapy. In pursuing her passion in neurological rehabilitation Shay currently works as a physiotherapist at Health Sciences centre in the setting of medicine, neurosurgery and neurology. She also works at Riverview Health Centre in Stroke and Traumatic Brain Injury rehab. She has recent experience as a supervising physiotherapist at the University of Manitoba Neuro Rehab Outpatient Clinic where she supported students in their assessment and treatment of patients with neurological conditions. She was first introduced to the Bobath concept at a private neuro practice clinical placement at Physio-Logic in Toronto. Since then, Shay has taken further education in the Bobath concept and she has practiced Neurodevelopmental Training (NDT) skills at HSC and the University of Toronto. She continues to further her education with formal training in NDT. Shay's assessment and treatment of those with neurological conditions is therefore a combination of both the Bobath concept and NDT. Shay believes this theoretical foundation allows her to support her patients in optimizing their health and functional mobility.
Outside of work Shay values her time spent visiting with friends and family. She enjoys being outdoors and spending time at the lake, in any season. Shay is also in love with her new puppy, Sugo.
